all local all the time

Check it out: locallectual
There's some local kids putting up a local goods website that is global. Well, at least aiming to be global. It's in the early phases and will get better and bigger the more folks use it, so go throw in your 2 cents about what's local in your locality.

And by the way, did you log your lunch?

Very good idea. Like the site. I'm a fan of the Buy Local button on Etsy too. Great way to find the amazing (and weird) stuff people are making in your town.

I was so excited when I made lunch today because I finally had something good to share!

Fresh, Local Pasta! with light cream sauce of local whole milk, butter, parmesean, leeks, and mushrooms. Then I topped it with a huge hunk of fresh sheep feta. It really was lovely, albeit a lot for mid-day. But I had to make up for my poor lunches over the last few.

Today: quesadilla with pico de gallo!

Yesterday was a local food symposium, so lunch was provided by the local food co-op: veggie/cheese sandwich, greens w/ vinaigrette, fruit cup and choc chip cookie.

Today, homemade curry chicken salad in locally made pita and pretzels from Michigan.

Hope the birdie made it home to its cage.
